In recognition of National Nutrition Month, Crisis
Control Ministry will hold its 19th annual “Wee Care! Cereal Drive” from March 4-29.
Elementary schools, preschools and day care centers throughout Forsyth County will collect cereal to be distributed at the Crisis Control Client Choice Food Pantries in Winston-Salem and Kernersville. Last year over 2,400 boxes of cereal were collected by 53 groups.
“By participating in Wee Care!, young children can help other children through a worthwhile community service project that fills our pantries,” said Crisis Control Ministry’s Executive Director, Margaret Elliott. “Letting children pick their favorite cereals and teaching them that
they will get to pass them to other children and families is a hands-on, tangible lesson.”
Participating schools and centers will have collection bins available from March 4-29. Teachers can also obtain curriculum information from Crisis Control to use during the drive. Other local businesses and organizations are welcome and encouraged to participate in the drive if interested.
