A Fresh Vision: Expanding Hope Through Client-Choice in Kernersville

For 47 years, Crisis Control Ministry’s Kernersville location has provided vital food assistance to eastern Forsyth and Stokes County residents. Now, as need surges in our community, we’re undertaking significant renovations to enhance and expand our client-choice food pantry experience.

The renovated pantry will feature:
• Expanded shopping area for clients to select their own items
• Enhanced refrigeration for fresh produce, meat, dairy and eggs
• Improved shelving for better food access and storage
Located adjacent to a USDA-designated food desert, our Kernersville pantry plays a crucial role in neighborhood health. Last year, Kernersville filled 623 food orders. Each order provides two weeks of balanced nutrition, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, and bread—not just canned and dry goods. “When families can choose foods that match their dietary needs and preferences, we see less waste and better nutritional outcomes,” notes Elliott.
