  persons in crisis situations was initiated by the Downtown Church Center\
 , a group of six churches in downtown Winston-Salem. Through that vision\,
  the doors of Crisis Control Ministry (CCM) opened on April 4\, 1973. Sinc
 e then\, it has grown to be the largest nonprofit provider of short-term e
 mergency assistance serving Forsyth and Stokes Counties.\n\nAs we enter 20
 23\, we approach the date we opened our doors for the first time fifty yea
 rs ago! To celebrate 50 years of work and service\, we are gearing up for 
 a joyful worship service full of music\, a great message and gratitude!\n
 \nThe Reverend Michael Curry\, the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Churc
 h and former chair of the board at CCM in 1980\, will bring a message of h
 ope and inspiration. The WFU Gospel Choir\, the Ardmore brass band\, commu
 nity leaders and young people will all be a part of the service.\n\nWe enc
 ourage you to reserve your seat for MONDAY\, APRIL 3rd\, at 7 PM\, the eve
  of our anniversary for this wonderful celebration happening at First Bapt
 ist Church on Fifth\, one of our founding congregations and where our foun
 der\, Ron Rice\, served as Outreach Pastor. We look forward to seeing you 
 there!
